Amazing Grace is probably the most well-known hymn of all time, and the story of its authorship is as powerful as its lyrics. The author, John Newton, spent several years as a slave master before he was moved to wholeheartedly devote his life to God. Eventually ordained as an Anglican priest, he later fought alongside Wilberforce to abolish the slave trade. His own personal transformation is clearly evident in the hymn's description of lost to found and blindness to sight. How sweet the sound!

The amazing grace that brought new life to a previous slave trader is the same grace available to us. This design can draw people's attention as they connect with the recognisable hymn, and provide opportunities for you to share how you have encountered grace in your own life. Conversations could also share John Newton’s story to illustrate how greatly we need God’s grace, and how willing He is to bestow it on those who turn to Him.

Details

This regular fit crew neck sweatshirt is made from heavyweight, 350 GSM anti-pill fleece for a warm, premium feel. It’s crafted from 80% cotton and 20% recycled polyester, with inset sleeves and sleeve cuff ribbing. Pre-shrunk to help reduce shrinkage.

How to Measure

  • Lay an existing t-shirt flat.
  • Body Width: Measure 3cm below armpit, from one side to the other.
  • Body Length: Measure from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the t-shirt.

  • Machine wash cold (inside out)
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not dry clean
  • Warm iron (inside out)
  • Line dry in shade
